Good news: FIVE times more vaccinated than Covid cases!

There are a lot of Debbie/Donald Downers on DCUM.

I just want to remind everyone that there were ONLY 30M Covid cases in over 14 months of Covid. (Covid actually started in November 2019 so I could say over a year and a half).

In under 6 months, we got 150 million vaccinated.

Now, I don't like Covid anymore than the next guy and I really don't care who is in office. That's a HUGE success for the US of A! Let's be patriotic!

And I don't want anyone to die but EVERY year, 3 million people in the US die for one reason or another. Maybe 500k wouldn't have died from covid but more works have died from car accidents. That's a sad number but it's actually pretty amazing
considering that Covid was compared to the Spanish flu! The flu of 1918 killed about 50% of people. C19 killed about 0.001 of Americans. We beat it!!!

Do the American thing and get vaccinated!!! Let's get to 100% of Americans with one shot! Go Americans!!!

You also realize numbers may be down too as many have already had covid.

COVID has nothing to do with car accidents.

I am embarrassed how people have and do behave during the pandemic. We could have done so much better if the numbers if people behaved responsibly. We need behavior and vaccine.

Yeah, not half of even those infected. I’ve seen the number as 10% of those infected.

But still much worse than COVID numbers, and of course Spanish flu killed young healthy people in much greater numbers.

Between the vaccinated and all of the people who have already had covid (which I believe is A LOT more than we realize) I would expect herd immunity has got to be close.

The small wave we had in 2021 seemingly peaked in mid-April. What's remarkable is that we had a similar wave over the summer (a peak of around 70k cases/day) but plateaued around 40k cases/day in the downward part. Here we are decreasing much faster. Vaccines work

I have a feeling that it's basically over. We had a trough in cases in June/July of last year. I assume it's seasonal and we'll likely see the same thing this year. By the time August and September get here, the number of immune will be great enough that it will be endemic but not an epidemic in the US any longer.
