$25K for PK

Not sure what we would do if we chose not to enroll at this school, since we have already notified our current school that we will not be returning. Probably a nanny share. We are not considering public school for K, and fully intend that DC will go private. What we really have to decide is whether delaying the expense to give ourselves more financial breathing room is worth possibly not being able to get into the school of our choice in 2 years.

I wouldn't take the risk and would enroll DC. If you have planned to do private for 12 years, 10K really shouldn't make a dent in the long run.

25K isn't that much if it is for full time care. If you both work then you are probably both working to give your child a great education.

Are you kidding me, OP?

That's college tuition for one year.

Save your money. My daughter went to a montessori, which we thought was expensive at $5K/year for a 15-hour a week program. She LOVED it and learned so much!

Save your money. It's pre-K!!!!! Children at this age have just learned what a toilet is for!

if you plan to go private all the way through then do it. you'll then be guaranteed a spot for future years and it will save you so much time and worry about you child's education in yrs to come. you say that this school is the best fit for your child, then i would think the difference between 18 and 25 wouldn't be that huge for you. though i do understand it is a lot of money.
we plan to pay 16 for our childs preschool next yr and my childless friends think that is insane!

Remember to figure in your care expenses for summer when comparing your options. I am horrified by what I'm spending on "camp" and a part-time nanny to get through the summer. It's a lot on top of tuition.
