I love it, even though the only Fern I ever met was despicable. Her hate-filled bigotry wasn't enough to overpower the positive association of this name with the character in Charlotte's Web.

My great Aunt Fern has too much to drink and broke her hip at our wedding reception. Paramedics and the fire truck came and took her to the hospital on a stretcher while Shevardnadze screamed in agony. There was a mass exodus of guests after that.
She’s fine now. But the name Fern minds me of a sparse dance floor and uneaten cake. |
