I have a couple days free now and I am looking to enroll in a dance class. I have two left feet and no absolutly nothing but I've always wanted to try. I'm pretty open to style of dance... jazz, modern, bollywood, bellydance, exotic etc
Any ideas? Thanks! |
I don't know of many in the Dupont area. Joy of Motion's Dupont location just closed down last year. But you might want to check out Academy of Theatrical Arts.
There are many dance studios further west...DC Dance Collective, Joy of Motion in Friendship Heights, Chevy Chase Ballroom and Sahara (belly studio). The first three have a wide variety of styles and intro classes. Sahara has intro classes in many exotic fusion and tribal style classes. In CU area there is Dance Place, in Columbia Heights there is the Dance Institute (all styles) and in Takoma, RODA Movements (Latin/Brazilian). I know off hand there is an Intro to Dance class, Thursday mornings at Joy of Motion in FH. |

Did they? What a shame! My daughter loved her ballet classes there, but aged out of their course offerings. It was a neat, creative place. |
yes, it's quite a bummer. But there is one in Northeast and Bethesda too. I wish they would open one in VA. |
oh I forgot about this one: http://www.dcdanceguide.com/
It's a brand new dance directory for DC. |
