I think it works well in a bedroom because it's a nice light neutral tone that goes well with any color bedding. I also think it works well for kids rooms for similar reasons. Gray and blue gray are really good neutrals for bedrooms and bathrooms.
But I wouldn't get a gray dining table because I do think the "all gray and white" home look is on its way out. Especially if you have dark wood floors in a brown tone. I would look for a good neutral brown (avoid anything too red or yellow) and then incorporate gray into window coverings, rugs, or accents instead. Those will be less expensive to switch out if you get bored of it. |
You can mix grey and wood floors. Check out Rivers Spencer's portfolio. She does a lot of grey in older homes with traditional floors.
