Can you explain this more? How would you call Cracker Barrel for takeout? How would your vet call you to remind you of an appt?

NP. It's voice over IP. I just dial the number. If my computer is turned off though, of course it doesn't ring. It doesn't replace having a cell phone, it replaces having a work number. (I don't want coworkers or people I'm calling at work knowing my personal number)

I do IT support, the company my team contracts with just switched all their meeting stuff from a previous application to teams. In the transition some people's settings were not transferred correctly or the previous application did not die the way it was supposed to so we're getting a lot of support requests related to that, critical meetings leaving people out, not generating the phone numbers for people who have to call in.

It’s a great tool as long as your IT department doesn’t screw it up.

Watch their videos in Youtube. It's very useful.

In the Teams app on your desktop, there's a "dial a number" option. Just make sure your mic is enabled (should be default when Teams is installed) and that your sound is on!

another NP- Our company got everyone a "Teams phone number". We no longer have desk phones and it doesn't matter where you are. All of our numbers have the area code for our headquarters, SC. When someone calls my SC number it rings on my computer in PA as well as my person cell phone (I set it up to do that. So clients don't have my cell but I can get there call) The one challenge I have run into is people that do not have Teams can not text me on a Teams number.
