I had success with Wellbutrin for about a decade til I felt like I didn’t need it anymore. No weight gain and sex drive was fine. |
Zoloft. |
They affect everyone differently. You have to try them yourself. |
Wellbutrin is weight neutral and increases sex drive, but causes anxiety in anxiety prone people. Sertraline (zoloft) tends not to affect body weight but can affect sex drive. |
I think Wellbutrin can be activating and increase anxiety, and many ssris cause weight gain. I’ve had success with SNRIs like cymbalta and pristiq, which both caused slight weight loss and didn’t really affect my sex drive (maybe slightly harder to orgasm but nothing that was a problem!)
I’ve had a couple difficult stretches of my life I’ve relied on these meds to keep me going and man I don’t know what I’d do without them right now! 2020 is a bust. |
Counseling does not cause weight gain. Side effects: greater insight into your troubles, change in thinking patterns with improved self-talk, and hopefully reduction in anxiety and depression. Try it! |
Hard eye roll. Most people on meds are also in therapy. Sometimes a medication. Is also needed. |
Yes. Basically whenever I have gone to therapy for depression, the therapist says “You also should be on meds”. To answer OP, Zoloft works for me with the least side effects. |
I've been on wellbutrin for 7 years and have zero sex drive. Didn't really happen until year 4-5 though. |
