Any little symptom? It is all so confusing. |
I agree. I have a tickle in my throat today. Like I just want to clear it. But the allergies look low today, so don’t think that’s it. I just have no clue .... |
When in doubt, ask your doctor.
I wouldn't for one non-COVID specific symptom (like a runny nose, absent anything else). Multiple non-specific symptoms or one of the specific ones (cough, fever, loss of smell), for sure. |
NP. It’s the cough thing. When I have the slightest drip from my sinuses, I get a cough. I wake up with a cough every day because of overnight drainage, and I have done this for years. That’s the weird part. Wouldn’t give it a second thought any other time. I ignore it because of no other symptoms but you still get nervous. |
When a sickness feels new or flu-like. |
Anything with a fever or GI symptoms
Anything with a cough Runny nose/sore throat stuff if it comes with fatigue or GI symptoms |
NP here. Have had a sore throat since last night, and generally not an anxious person at all, but I also don't get sick very often or have a sore throat for more than a few hours.
No fever, cough, fatigue, GI symptoms, smell/taste issues. Even though a sore throat is relatively unusual for me, I really don't think it's necessary to seek out a test with no other symptoms. If this were any other year, I'd shrug it off. |
So basically any little symptom. |
If you want to be careful, yes. A friend's father felt a little run down with a mild cold, thought it was allergies, ran a bunch of errands all over, got tested finally, and lo and behold it was covid. |
I got tested last week. I was exhausted and achy for a few days after a move - because it was HARD. Then I got a headache, which is very common for me with weather changes. Then I got a sore throat for two days, which is unusual. I got a telehealth appointment on day 2 of the sore throat, and because of the combination of symptoms the doctor recommended testing. It wasn't covid, fortunately.
If i were going to see at risk people at work or in my personal life, I'd gongor the slightest tickle. If i were mainly staying isolated at home, I'd wait for something that didn't feel so normal and expected. |
GI symptoms? That's really overkill. My husband has GI symptoms nearly every day. The answer is GI symptoms if you feel off or it's unusual for you. |
I got tested because my first symptom was fever. If it had been any other generic cold symptom I might have waited but fever scared me. After that I also got a persistent headache and a mild cough.
For the record, I tested negative (I isolated for 10 days anyway). This was about 6 weeks ago. And I just got an antibody test and that was negative, too. So it was something, but it wasn't Covid. |
Ended up just getting one for a sore throat (no fever). Negative. |
