What to replace rocking chair with in toddlers room?

Anonymous
It's time to move the rocking chair out of our 2.5yo's room and into future baby's room. What should I replace it with?

She's still in a crib for now but we don't keep toys in her room for when the day comes she can get out of her crib or is in a big kid bed. She does have a ton of books on her shelf. Should I get a comfy kid's size chair for her? A different chair we can still sit in together? Nothing?

Sorry if this is a stupid question my pregnant brain can't think anymore.

When my kids moved out of a rocking chair they also moved into twin beds. We didn't really need (or have space for) a chair at that point, because reading usually happened in their beds after that. Where do you picture you'll do the reading/cuddling part of a bedtime routine?

Exactly. We kept a chair in the room until DS was in a bed. Then we read/snuggled/sang in the bed instead of the chair.

Bean bag chair.

It became part of her reading nook.

We got a bean bag chair cover and I stuffed all the stuffed animals inside it. Doubles as a chair for reading time and storage.

We got a bean bag chair. We could sit on it together for bedtime stories, or he could sit in it by himself to look at picture books or play with stuffed animals.

Nothing? More room to spread out on the carpet with cushions and read/play!

Yes we moved a different comfy chair into my 2 year old's room when the baby needed the recliner (for nursing/feeding). She moved into a bed about 6 months later, and now we read on her bed together. We made that corner a reading nook with comfy pillows and a canopy.

The big recliner is still in the younger one's room and he's about to turn 4. I'll probably get him a bean bag type reading corner when we finally get rid of the chair at some point.

We did a TULLSTA chair from IKEA

We did a cute boho type chair that hangs from the ceiling. Also went to bug girl bed so if I’m reading with her, we lay down

We moved my toddler out of the nursery into a big girl room with a crib and a twin. We read on the twin. But when the younger sibling (now 2) started reading with us every night, we had to move to DH's and my queen sized bed. They were fighting too much reading on the twin.

So I vote a twin bed, small couch or a table and chairs (my 4 year old plays with her calico critters in her own room)

We did a bean bag type chair but they probably would have been just as happy to have more floor space.
