This. And Sadie is a reach for a Isadora NN. I know all of the seemingly unrelated Elizabeth NNs, so don’t start quoting those. I think if you like Sadie, just name her Sadie. |
I’m NAF but it doesn’t seem like a stretch to me at all. I-SAD-ora. |
Isadora by a mile! I also love the nn Sadie. This is a great name! |
I like the sound of Naomi and it’s a lovely name. BUT every time I hear it all I think is “I MOAN” backwards. I hate that this is stuck in my mind because it really is a nice name. |
To be honest, I'm not really a fan of either. I like Isadora better--maybe Isa as a nickname?
Good luck! |
Both are great choices OP! |
Sadie is a nickname for Sarah ![]() |
Except it’s Is-a-Dora not I-sad-Ora! |
+1 |
Isadora is my daughter’s middle name so of course I love it and I think it’s generally underused. Nice change from all the Isabelles. I think Sadie is fine as a nickname but it may not stick or she may choose something else when she’s older. So don’t do it if you hate Izzy, Dora, or the full name.
Naomi is not my style but it’s a good, classic name. You can’t go wrong with it. |
I really like both names. Isadora is more fanciful. Naomi more classic.
No offense, but I really don’t like Sadie (or Dora). I think if you call her Isadora, that will be her name. You don’t need to shorten it. (By the way, how do you feel about Izzy? Because if Isadora’s friends invent a name for her, it just might be Izzy....but that may/may not stick.) |
I love Isadora but I’m Brazilian. Sadie is a strange nickname imo. Naomi is nice too. |
I just don’t like Naomi, never have. Even as an elementary schooler when I had a classmate with the name (and she was perfectly nice).
Isadora is cool and I see no problem with Sadie as a nickname. It’s no stretch at all. It makes way more sense than Peggy for Margaret, Sally for Sarah, or Teddy for Theodore. |
Sadie reminds me of Oprah’s dog |
Naomi. Because it is used more widely in different cultures. |
