Manufacturing Restarts

Anonymous
Referees: You should not be manufacturing restarts anymore. You should never drop the ball to a team and tell them to play back to the other team's goal keeper. Those days are over. If you blow the whistle for an injured player and the ball s still in play, the drop ball goes to the team that last touched/possessed the ball. Period.

And if a team kicks it out for an injured player, well it's up to the other team to throw it in to team that kicked it out. It's not the referee's decision.

Parents: Remind the referees of this if you see it happening

Parents also remind the referee to look the other way when a retaliation red card offense happens if the other team fails to make the sportsmanship play in those situations.

I was so worried about this. Now that the no more restart police are on the look out and we know it all parents telling refs how to ref games I can go back to real concerns like COVID and paying bills.

Just another parent that thinks their knowledge is superior to everyone else and must share it with everyone so we can all marvel in their intellect and benefit from their useless input.

If you are so worried about Covid and paying bills, why are you on this forum? As to useless input...reread you post. What wisdom did you provide except being an a-hole. 100% useless. At least, OP shared something. I disagree with parents talking to referees though.

So you agree with my point then. Some random know it all parent encouraging other parents to school refs on the rules is a horrible idea. Thanks for confirming my point. I feel so much better knowing I ruined your day and you agree with me. Enjoy the rest of your day

Parents: Do not talk to the ref. If there’s a problem, let the coach deal with it.

LOL the consistency of refereeing is not something that will happen. I really could care less about restarts. Much more concerns about the lack of protection of players by bad refereeing.

Are soccer ref courses any valuable?

Nein, they’re (as with anything in the good ol’ USA) all about $.

Not sure where PP said anything about free? Key word: valuable.

You probably also think we are the greatest country on the face of the Earth.

Is not a parent's job to remind the referee of anything. You are there as a spectator and cheerleader for your child's team. The referee's job to referee, not yours. Stop ruining the fun of the game for everyone.

Not true- it’s the parents responsibility to loudly remind the ref of the rules, comment on their eyesight and their obvious neutrality

Yes, exactly. And parents have an obligation to school the refs on every offsides call. And, little known fact, if you yell "handball" enough the ref will call it. It might take 17 tries, but give it a shot!

Good news, OP. There’s going to plenty of games without refs this upcoming weekend, so be sure to bring your whistle - and make sure you gets those Drop Ball calls right. That’s really super important.
