I will be offering some sessions to my students over the summer, but not for money. The kids who need it the most do not come from families that have a ton of extra money. |
This. 1/3 of my school’s students are missing right now. We’ll offer as much free help this summer as we can. |
Not a option for everyone. Our school doesn't have summer school. They do have ESY for kids with a proven need. |
If we could safely do 1 to 1 private tutoring I would go for it. But if it is going to be virtual I would rather just find a solid homeschooling program for the summer. One designed to be done at home, possibly with live tutors for the occasional help.
Heck I would spring for clear masks and cleaning supplies, sett up a tent outside or whatever, it that was a option for in person tutoring. But no more video lessons please. Our teachers are great and doing amazing work. My kid is just way over being on screen and having to preform on demand without the human contact. We will keep adjusting and trying but I gotta figure something else out for next year. |
Another teacher whose contract prevents me from tutoring my own students (or any students at my school). It’s a conflict of interest. You could ask your child’s teacher if she could recommend someone-she might not have extensive contacts at other schools, but you never know til you ask.
I would consider tutoring locally over the summer if libraries opened. |
I’ve started tutoring online. I always tutor over the summer. I’m DCPs. I plan to ask some of my outgoing students |
Pressed send instead of edit! I plan to ask some of my students’ parents if they are interested. I already have a few current clients. I won’t take on too many because I have my own kids to watch. I think it depends on the contract. |
I’ve had parents ask, and I am always happy to recommend some awesome teachers who tutor over the summer. I have a young child and don’t want to have to make childcare arrangements for her during the summer. I always worked summers before having her and often jumped at the chance to tutor.

I was going to offer free tutoring- but I’m just over it now. Mostly the behavior management piece. Coaxing a kid to sit down for 20/30 minutes is mind numbing.
I’ll see you all, via a screen in August |
I’ll let you know how to reach me for tutoring and enrichment after I separate from DCPS |
Hi all, I am a local independent school teacher that tutors year-round. Feel free to DM me for additional details if you are in need of a tutor. |
I live in Moco and my kids have been getting tutored twice a week in math since March! Its been a lifesaver since online learning in their public school is such a disaster. I plan to continue the math tutoring through the summer. |
