Doesn't take any research to come to the finding that you are one nutty GOP curmudgeon-socialist pig? Overdramatize much? Since you are probably institutionalized, what difference is it to you if you can make it to work tomorrow?

Of course the federal government is closed Monday. Would govies have it ANY other way? Thought we had a chance of not making asses out of ourselves with Obama being from a snow - privy state.

Awesome!! We haven't been plowed, and I was worried about getting DS to daycare. This is wonderful. Honestly, I think it's a smart thing to do. Everything is going to be a sheet of ice tomorrow.

Oh yeah, and Obama sat in his office today and watched the snow and personally gave the command on whether to shut Federal agencies down on Monday. I don't care who the president is, he or she has actual real people working for them who make those decisions all their own. It's called management!

I don't know about you, d**khead, but I'll be working from home tomorrow. Good thing because if metro doesn't open the above ground stations I can't make it to work.

Do you REALLY think that the President of the the United States sits around watching the weather reports like some school superintendent and makes the call about closings for federal employees?

IT'S NOT THE PRESIDENT'S CALL.

From the OPM website (http://www.opm.gov/oca/compmemo/dismissal.pdf):

OPM officials will consult with various officials, including appropriate DC government, municipal and regional officials before the Director makes a decision on closure, dismissal, or special leave treatment.

The Director of OPM will make a decision on whether to curtail Federal operations. This decision will be based on the need to keep Federal operations functioning as normally as possible and our concern for the safety of Federal employees.

Miss 17:06, I don't appreciate the attitude.

Actually, although the Fed Gov't is closed, I will be logging on and doing some work I need to do. I may even drive in to do it. No, I am not an appointee. Just dedicated. My bet is that most of the folks I work with will do the same.

(I truly doubt Obama was consulted on this one.)

I worked for the federal govt from 2001-08 (coincidentally). It was most certainly closed for one day during the Feb. 2003 storm.
