Which DC hospitals use Nitrous Oxide?

I’m particularly wondering about whether anyone used it at Georgetown and what your experience was like. Thanks in advance!

Washington Hospital Center and Inova Fairfax both do.

GW will start offering it soon.

Inova hospitals are not in DC.

I’m quite sure Georgetown does not.

Just jumping in to say that despite their advertisements, don't count on Inova Alexandria having nitrous. I gave birth there in Jan 2020, and despite the fact that it was in my birth plan and I'd discussed nitrous with literally everyone at Physicians/Midwives and in the hospital during my induction, no one thought to tell me that they didn't have it available until I was in full on labor. Maybe think about another hospital.

I used it at WHC and had a great experience. It definitely took the edge off (at least up until transition) and really helped with my breathing. The midwives were great, it was easy to get it started. They stopped doing it for awhile because of covid, but they are offering nitrous again.

WHC is the only one.

Covid could also affect the availability due to sanitation concerns. I'm outside of the DC area now, but that was the case when I gave birth a few months ago. I would just call the hospital directly and
find out.
