Hi All!

I am looking for a great reading tutor for a 4yr old. Bonus if they also can help with writing. Would love to find
someone who works in the Chevy Chase / Bethesda area.

Thanks so much!

Ugghh. A four year old isn’t too young to have a reading or writing tutor.

The child needs play-based approaches to help them get ready to read. Many kids are not ready until they’re six or seven. Rushing it really can eff up their relationship to reading.

Also looking for a reading tutor for a 5 year old - Bethesda or Chevy Chase. Any recommendations?

Are your kids dyslexic? Look up Colleen Blair at Lab School. She is on their web site. Very kind. If they are not dyslexic, you need to get a grip.

Try SpiderSmart.

Teach the child yourself! At 4 years old you can only get about 15 minutes of challenging work until they are tired, so it is far more effective to teach them daily than in weekly tutoring „sessions“. DCUM always wants to crucify me for this, but I taught my child to read at 3.5 years old and now at 4 he reads at a second grade level.

Mine learned at school in K or maybe in 1st grade. Read on 11th grade level in 5th grade.
