Does anyone do this themselves? We’ve had so many health and home expenses and a huge tax bill. I am trying to save where I can. Suggestions appreciated. |
I do it myself. Turn screw a half turn in the yard on the valve on the house. Turn ball valve on water pipe to open in the laundry room. Ready to go. |
make sure you cycle through the valves in the yard while slowing opening the mains to bleed the air out so you don't have water hammer |
Thank you. It’s the turn screw half a turn that I am not getting. I opened the cover (it’s on the ground in the yard) and couldn’t figure it out. So was looking for videos. Couldn’t find any that were similar for my rainbird. Would like to do this every year. |
I am not sure how to explain it. Let me see if I can find any pics, |
Oh man, this is so easy. Definitely learn to do it yourself. And disregard the previous poster’s comment on water hammer. Nothing to worry about. |
Irr Tech here...Its good advice to open the water main slowly... better safe than sorry.... last thing you need is for a glue joint to fail or the sudden pressure to tear a hole in the diaphragm of a valve. been there seen and had to make the repair. oenthe valve slowly will take you all of 30 seconds. but a repair will cost you several hundred |
