Any artists out there?

New DC transplant and was wondering if any artists can point me in the direction of where I can find good resources. Call for entries, meeting other artists, etc. I have a small baby and although my time is limited, I would still love to meet other creative people.

Don't know where you're located at, but there's a thriving art's scene in Mount Rainier (MR). MR is just past the WDC line, about 1.5 miles from Catholic University. Local, regional & state leaders (artists included) are using the arts as an anchor for development along the Route ! (aka Rhode Island/Baltimore Ave). Check out the following link.

creative mama here. what is your medium? I'm media/fine/performing arts. Here are a few of my resources:

www.mediabistro.com (mostly media arts, writing/illustration seminars, contests, networking events, newsletters)

www.adcmw.org (art director's club)

Arlington Arts Center

You might check The Corcoran School of Art to see if they have anything going on.

www.aiga.org (graphic arts)

Martin Luther King Library is always looking for community exhibition pieces.

Don't know where you are but there is a new art center in the old Lorton Prison. Completely renovated and I've heard some great things about it: http://www.lortonarts.org/
