On first impression I thought the place was small, cramped and no one was really that receptive to us. The director stood in the doorway leaning against the door jamb and answered our questions. She didn't explain each age groups activities for the day. When we went into the one year old room, she just stood there and said, "this is it." We didn't even get a tour of the whole center. But after leaving I still wanted to put my name on their list because of my panic of not finding a daycare and the convenience of the place.
BUT!!!! I have visited two other centers since, the places seemed like mini schools, they explained each classroom, their curriculum/activities for the day, how they transition the child from one classroom to the next. We started off the tour in infants and finished in kindergarten. Each tour lasted about an hour and was very informative, the teachers in all the classrooms acknowleged us and the kids all said hi. In the Arlington Kindercare, it seemed as if we were a burden to be there. Like they really don't care if you like the school or not, you are paying for the convenience of it's location right in Clarendon and they will always fill the spot.
That was my impression of Kindercare vs. the other schools. All in all and to put it bluntly, I would never send my kid there after seeing several other daycares. First impression means a lot, the teachers were cold, the director was aloof and acted like she was doing us a favor, and the classrooms were cramped.
