One of those days ...

It’s been one of those days where I feel like I’m failing at everything.

I started on a new team at my company about a month ago, but I haven’t been able to get any projects started because I’ve had endless doctor’s appointments to try to address a slew of medical problems I have. My boss has been understanding but I feel so crappy about it. I also need to retake a qualifying test at work because the crap training I spent 10 weeks on was ineffective. That means I’ll have to study for the retest over our vacation, which was already going to be stressful because it’s 2 weeks in Europe with the ILs and our 2 year old (DH really wanted to do it for their 65th birthday and I said fine ... I know it was stupid).

Then today I took DD to Whole Foods for dinner because I couldn’t face cooking. She was fine until a fly kept landing on her food, at which point she had a complete meltdown, so we had to go home.

I just want to crawl into a hole.

I would cry if a fly kept landing on my food too. Good luck on your test.

May tomorrow be better, amen.

Tomorrow will be better and you can do it. Europe or not! Have in laws watch the grandchild and spend some time alone studying. You can do it and you will!!!

Poor OP. It's always the fault of someone else.

I know how you feel OP. I feel like instead of being able to be good at and focus on a few things, I'm kinda doing a mediocre job at a everything right now just to stay afloat.

Trying to figure out how I can restructure things, but it's hard!

Hope today is a better day.

Tough love message: you need to rethink the Europe trip. You're not excited about it and based on what you wrote, you should be worrying about keeping your job.

Keeping my job? No, I am in no way in jeopardy of losing my job. In the past year, I've won several awards based on my performance and how I do on this test will not impact whether I keep my job.

The Europe trip was long planned and approved by my supervisor.

Thank you to those who are being supportive.

That's a jerky response. I hope you're nicer in person.

Would you really feel comfortable in Europe with a slew of medical problems?

I dont get it. Sounds like life. And it really doesnt sound that bad. Not sure why it is post worthy or what advice you're seeking. Or even why it's a printing question. You spent more time talking about your job so maybe post in the Job Forum

Yes. They don’t preclude travel.

Thank you for sharing your concerns with us. I’m truly sorry for what you’re going through. It seems that you are carrying too much on your shoulders that is causing you being stressful. Have you thought about taking care of your health has your top priority? It sounds that you are very busy now. While you are in Europe have you considered setting aside time to study alone? Maybe you can ask a favor to one of your in laws or DH to take care of your child and daughter? I encourage you to conquer your stress by prioritizing time management skills, it will help you if you write the things that you want to achieve during the day in a journal, try to sleep from seven to 8 hours, try to separate one day to enjoy the time with your love ones and the things that you really want to do. I hope this helps. Sending you hugs. I will keep you all in my prayers, my friend. Keep us posted, Ok?

OP: I'm failing at everything
PP: Here is some advice because you are failing at your job.
OP: what? I'm NOT failing at my job, I have AWARDS.
Everyone: stop posting if you're going to argue with advice.
The end.
