I just moved to the Fairfax area and am due to deliver our first child at the end of January. My husband and I would greatly appreciate any recommendations for a female OBGYN who delivers at either INOVA Fairfax or INOVA Fair Oaks. Advice about who to avoid is also welcome. Thank you in advance for your help!

I was told by someone at INOVA that both Fairfax and Fair Oaks had private suites. I did not realize that you had to request a private one at Fairfax if available. Thank you for letting me know.
I plan to get an epidural. I do not plan to use a doula or midwife. I am more comfortable with a female than a male obgyn. Bedside manner is always an important factor. Since this is my first pregnancy, it would help to have someone who is patient enough to answer any questions I have, no matter how silly they might seem. I would prefer that she received her medical degree and training and completed her residency at a good, reputable school. It is important to me that she has been practicing for longer than 5 years, though longer would be better. Beyond that I just want to have a smooth and as uneventful of a delivery as possible.

Sounds like Dr. Terry Allen is one I should really consider. The only problem is that she only delivers at Fairfax and most people on this forum have been saying Fair Oaks is better. Any recommendations for a female OBGYN that delivers at Fair Oaks???
