Expectant and Postpartum Moms
|
I am a student in a post-graduate seminar on Infant and Young Child Observation at the Washington Center for Psychoanalysis. Myself and the other students are asked to identify a family with a newborn (under 3 months) that will allow weekly one hour observations to take place of that infant and the interactions between the infant and the members of the family. These observations require little to no interaction between the observer and the family. We are to strictly sit back and observe the infant in the natural environment. I am seeking a family that has had or will be giving birth to their baby within the next month, who would be willing to discuss the observations further.
Thank you Barbara |
| How long does the study continue for? |
|
We are seeking families who are willing to commit to the observations for the 4 semester program. I would be completing the program in May of 2011 and there would be no summer observations.
Thank You Barbara |
| Will you be willing to provide information about yourself, faculty in charge of the seminar and personal references? (Off line of course). |
| Some teachers are unbelievable! How do they expect all their students to find a family willing to have a stranger in their home every single week for 2 years? UGH! |
she said it goes 4 months. Still a long time. |
pp here: oops. I'm wrong! Guess I'm with you and simply can't believe they'd ask this of a student/family. wow. |
| 4 semesters is not 4 months....now until next May is what she noted as well |

We understand the comittment that this study involves. Like many research studies it benefts us to observe the same family for the whole program. Please feel free to review the program details at the Washington School of Psychiatry website. I would be happy to provide further details, including references. I am not only a student in this post-graduate course, I am also an infant teacher in an early childhood education program.

| I am due December 24th (but will most likely have a planned c-section the week before). I was once a graduate student who observed infants in their homes. I would be happy to participate f you still need a participant. Please contact me at mmcc333@aol.com. |
