Does anyone have a recommendation for an pediatric orthopedist? My 5 year old is "pigeon toed" and recently complains a great deal about pain in his legs and feet when walking. Just yesterday he said he felt "lighting" in his big toe. Something is going on and I need to have it checked out. Thanks!

We've been to a couple of them. For my daughter's leg fracture, Walter Masciuch in Rockville. Very nice man. For possible hip displacement, Arabella Leet at Kennedy-Krieger. Very knowledgeable.

Dr. Delahay at Georgetown. Best in the area and worked a miracle for my daughter.

I know some people absolutely rave about Delahay (see PP). My experience was not the same. For my DS, Delahay did not follow what is the std treatment protocol and my son needed months of additional treatment as well as a 2nd surgery to fully correct his feet.

Please - where ever you go, read everything you can find about the diagnosis and treatment and get a 2nd opinion.

Sorry a PP had a bad experience with Dr. Delahey at Georgetown. We really like him; he treated my daughter's hip dysplasia. He is pretty well renowned and is actually very encouraging of getting a second opinion.

I would see any of the pediatric orthopedists at Children's Hospital, especially Dr. Wimberly.
