Work travel coincides with Western dispensary states (non-drug tested work position). Got Medical card and began using it. Find I sleep better post THC and the CBD/THC oil tends to take away aches and pains as a 50 yo.
Anyone else finding similar experiences? Originally intimidated by 39 different strains of sativa to indico and 6 different ways to consume, but now I'm looking at concentrates. As a kid, it was a joint, Scooby Doo, Allman Bros and Domino's for 4 hours. Today's version allows me to focus more as last week completed a business plan with a really high concentration and creativity level. Am I putting too much stock in it? Anyone else seeing similar results? |
Nope, you are not alone. I love weed / what it does for me (I feel very motivated, focused and creatively driven). I think it helps my mind slow down and focus and really immerse myself in the task at hand. I've gone through phases - I smoked multiple times a week when I was in law school, didn't smoke much throughout my kid-20s, 'rediscovered' it and smoked a few times a month around 30, when I was in the midst of making some career changes...and obviously I don't credit weed with my success, but I truly did use it as a tool/enhancement in a real period of personal hustling, with real success. I haven't touched it / half-forget it exists for 9 years or so because I've been pregnant / raising little kids, but I have no doubt that my use will pick back up again some day (and then drop off again, etc). I really do find that I go through phases with it, and I don't think that's uncommon. Long story sort, enjoy it! As long as you're not smoking daily or using it as a way to escape reality / your life, it can be a great tool. You are not the only person who feels that, used appropriately, it can be a real enhancer of sorts (as opposed to the stereotypical stoner melting into the couch image). |
*mid, short, etc. Not high right now, just didn't proofread! |
I just got my card and have really been enjoying it. I’ve even stopped drinking completely. |
Enjoy your man boobs. |
This a part of my retirement plan, and so much as changed, I would love to see more on this subject, as I have not done anything with weed since the 90s. |
OP: No man boobs as I'm on TRT. Disposable pens = no smell on clothing. Great at concerts, too. Thinking of trying a pen with THC and essential oils mixed to see if gives a "bliss" feeling as the packaging claims. More to follow |
If it becomes legal where I live, I'll definitely try it for medical use. My aches and pains have aches and pains at this point. |
Yes. I have a friend who quit Ambien and vapes every night before bed and has been totally successful. Now I'm trying it. We aren't in a state where it's legal but |
Lordy Yes!! Rediscovered true deep sleep. Smoke sometimes but also use tinctures. Any particular strains that help with productivity and crearivity? |
My DH is 50 and is smoking for anxiety relief, and to help him focus for work. We live in California. |
Are you thinking of inhaling essential oils? |
I'm 50 and have never tried it. A friend offered me some but I don't know if I want to go down that rabbit hole. Late '80s in Finance working in DC my contemporaries and I were into cocaine, which I'm sure is so much worse, but we were not into pot. |
I would love to develop a marijuana habit now that I'm approaching 50. But I fear it would go with grey hair and large swinging boobs, clogs and too many pets in the house.
Also I saw a graph once which outlined the effects on the brain of caffeine, alcohol, nicotine and marijuana. If you imagine the brain as a whole pizza, a brain on pot is missing an entire 1/4. Its a lot scarier than the other options which are just generally slightly scrambled. |
Does anyone know a reputable MD who prescribes medical marijuana in MD or DC? I have cancer and am interested in pain control and elevating my mood. I have no idea where to start. I don't drink and have never used marihuana before. |
