I am REALLY in need on some new jeans...after having my DD my body has changed and the old ones are all either too tight on my tummy, and hang off my bum, or both. I am trying to lose weight but in the meantime need at least one pair of cool jeans. My body shape is generally that I have too much in the tummy , not enough in the rear, and nice legs (yeah! )...if only I could rearrange a few things... and I am 5'10
So all the "cool" jeans seem to stop at size 10/12, and I am very frustrated!!! I am ready to learn to sew and make my own. Can anyone recommend a store, online or otherwise, and maybe a specific brand that comes in a bigger size? Money is not that much of a concern, I am so frustrated I am willing to shell it out if they look good. Thanks in advance! |
I have an awesome pair of levi's, so great in fact, that I purchased two pairs. While they are a bit lower cut that I would have hoped for, they are not low riders, and they are flared in leg. |
I have similar body shape issues and have trouble finding jeans that fit. I am 5'9. I recently found a pair of Michael Kors jeans that I love. I got them at Macys in the women's department and they fit great, are long enough, and are really uncomfortable. They were $99 - but I figured that was okay since I only own 2 pairs total. I also have found that Calvin Klein pants fit really well - Macys has them too. |
I wear a 14 and personally love Banana Republic and Ann Taylor Loft Jeans. I am not sure about ATL but I know BR jeans come in long/tall sizes. They fit well and hold up to all the standard baby yuckiness! |
I also love Michael Kors. I didn't wear jeans before I tried his as no other brands fit my shape. I will say that I have more junk in the trunk and a slim waist but a size 14 nonetheless. |
I like Applebottoms jeans. |
I second Banana Republic. Make sure you try the urban fit, which is their "curvy" fit. I'm tall--5'11"--and wear a 12 long and they fit every time, I don't even have to try them on. GL |
Go to Nordstroms womens section (encore) and try Not Your Mother's Jeans - the Tummy Tuck ones. They are amazing! The size 14 should work you I'm guessing and they run long which should be good for you. The comments from my husband about my a$$ made this worth every penny. |
I also like Ann Taylor Loft and Banana jeans. Banana jeans run really long as well (I always have to get them hemmed big time!) |
I think the fit of jeans has so much more to do with body shape than relative size. Size 14s from different places fit very differently for different people. So it really comes down to the annoying but important task of trying on as many different brands as you can and finding the one that fits your body shape best. It really does no good to get people's suggestions when you have no idea whether their body shape is similar to yours or not. |
Go to Chico's - they have some very flattering jeans/pants and the sizes will just make you feel amazing![]() |
