Who to build with - Relux, NDI, Stanly Martin or Evergreen?

We are looking into tearing down our house in Arlington and building new - we are NOT looking into custom home. Based on the pricing, we down selected Relux, NDI, Stanley and Evergreen.
What do you think? |

I built a custom house with Relux and we are very happy. Its been a year and we have not stopped receiving compliments from neighbors and guests. My inspector said that the house was built to good standards in his exp.
Here is my rating of Relux. Customer service: 1/5 Quality of construction materials (2 by 6 walls, insulation, appl etc): 4.25/5 Front Elevation look/finish and interior: 4.5/5 Value in total build cost: 5/5 The manager is a little bit of an a-hole if u can deal with that part you will be happy with the house you get. Be prepared to do a lot of research on your own, the Proj manager will tell you this and that is against city code dont take their word for it research it yourself. Be careful when dealing with the site engineer, press him for details. All their light fixtures come from China but they look nice IMO. Construction materials are locally sourced. |

ask for pricing and compare packages
list everything/features you absolutely want on your home, then ask them to bid on it |

I heard that there construction is superb in comparison to other companies on my list. Anything else? |

Our price point was low 600s including site dev for a 6000 + sq feet house. IMO evergreen is overpriced, they charged me 100k for site dev alone. |

Have you built with Relux? We did and we are very happy. They get all construction materials from Home Depot? I even have the delivery receipts. They get their lighting fixtures, LED lighting and cabinets come from China. I have had several inspectors say it is a very well built house. It's far better than NDI and equivalent to Stanley Martin my opinion. |

Every time if there is a post asking Relux, always someone like you is saying how good they are, which is not true at all. I went to both Relux and NCI’s open house in Mclean, Relux is as bad as NCI or even worse. Workmanship is a joke, front porch’s veneer stone fell off on the brand new construction, built-in bookcase is made of cheapest material, very sloppy installation, stair railing is shaking, the list just goes on. |

What is NCI.
FYI I just built a high end custom home. The subs are all the same it's the difference is how much oversight the GC performs and attention to detail. |

| Relux uses the best architect in this area. Unlike you I have actually built with them and had the house inspected at every stage by pros. Go compare the standard specs and come back here. |
