In California there's this great place called Rainbow Grocery that has a wide bulk foods selection. You can get everything from grains to shampoo. I heard there is a good coop out Macarthur Blvd that has good bulk stuff but this reference is from over a decade ago. There does seem to be a Bethesda Coop on 7 Locks Rd. Anyone go there? Anyone have bulk alternatives to Whole Foods? TIA

Oh...the Berkeley Bowl, I loved that place and Monterey Market. Don't get me started on the bread, but THE CHEESE BOARD! Mmmmmmm...

The Takoma Park Co-op has a fairly large bulk section- pasta, grains, dried fruit, mixes (soup, falafel), tons of different kinds of rice, honey, olive oil, syrup, etc.
They also have a bulk herbs section.
