But my husband thinks we should just have sex everyday that I'm not on my period. And not do the apps and temping and all that jazz. Anyone done this? In theory that seems like it would work. |
2 possible drawbacks:
1. If your husband has low/lowish sperm count he should be conserving for right when you're most fertile and doing every other day or so, and 2. If it takes a really long time you'll get burned out. But if he's game, there's no reason not to go for it for at least the first couple of months. Sounds like fun! |
He's game! I'm not sure I am. |
FWIW, if you don't know any information about his fertility, you're actually best doing it every other day. If there are no issues, every day and every other day produce the same results statistically; if he has a low sperm count, every other day is more effective. Maybe also more tolerable for you? |
Yes, with my first we had sex every other day from the day my period ended. Got pregnant right away. It's worth trying but after a couple months you will be so over it! |
every other day during your fertile window (about five days before ovulation) is plenty. No point having sex outside that window other gam for fun, and now need to do it in that window every day |
Dumb question ... if you do it every other day, could you miss your most fertile time? |
Read "Taking Charge of Your Fertility." Your chances are highest and about the same on the day of ovulation or the day before ovulation. That's why you can do every other day. And for men with low sperm counts, every other day is more likely to work. |
We did every other day and it worked well for us three different times. |
Our fertility doctor recommended every other day during the most fertile 10 days of my cycle. Other than that it's mostly for pleasure. Every day sounds exhausting unless you both have very high sex drives! Just be careful that it doesn't turn into a "job" which it can become when you are TTC. |
