Yeah, that would be the ultimate diversity chip! |
Dopplegangers get all the breaks -- it's so unfair! |
Almost didn't look at this thread. It turned out to be a bigger chuckle than I expected. Thanks. |
Me too! It sounds silly, but I will walk around for the rest of the day secretly knowing that I just got 5% smarter. BTW, is it completely lame that I can remember my SAT scores but cannot remember the name of the first person I kissed? |
Yes, I believe that I would get in (to Brown). Having employed dozens of interns from 1st and 2d tier universities in the past 10 years, I can also say that although the numbers of applicants have increased, the quality simply hasn't. These kids can't write. |
No, I doubt I would. I think I barely got in as a soph. transfer b/c my SATs weren't that great. It helped that my mom and grandfather went there. Every year, they send me the alumni catalog and the SAT scores are way, way above what I got (even corrected for the new SATs). I wouldn't have been able to afford it either. |
Wow - happy to know that my SAT scores just went up. Based on that I would probably get in, but only if I had also been molded to have a more robust HS experience. I did some good stuff, and worked part time, but was not programmed every minute like kids today. My DD probably can't get into to my college (even if she wanted to go, which she doesn't). |
Yes, although maybe not Early Decision this time. |
Yes. Was an out of state student at a state university that only accepted 5% of the class from out of state. They've since figured out they can squeeze bigger bucks from out of staters, and now accept 15% or more. |
My university still requires a strong portfolio to be admitted into their art program, and I believe mine is a lot stronger now than it was 15 yrs ago. So, yes. Although, if I were to do it all over again, I would aim for a business degree, too. |
