"Rolling coal" People really do this?

They don't know their ass from a hole in the ground.

Kinda dumb but ultimately harmless. No big deal.

Ultimately harmless? Automobile exhaust is now harmless?

Stopping a highway doesn't seem as bad to me as deliberately spewing pollution to make a point.

Similarly people tossing out trash because they are lazy and inconsiderate is "human, all too human"

None of the other examples match this, deliberately causing pollution to "protest against environmentalism"

+1 Exactly!

For crying out loud. A few rednecks do this and all of a sudden, you're calling out all "Trump voters"? Talk about deplorable.

1. No, I did not realize someone had posted about this

2. Where in my OP did I mention Trump?

3. The word deplorable as used by HRC never referred to all Trump supporters. It specifically was used by HRC to distinguish AMONG Trump supporters. You need to read her actual statement, not the misquote of it.

These roadside protesters hold signs reading: "HONK IF YOU SUPPORT . . . "

But the EPA identifies unnecessary honking as pollution (noise pollution).

So it's the protesters who are CAUSING the pollution here. They need to stop.

As for the pickups, they are all 100% EPA and DOT approved. They cause no more politico than any other car or truck on the road.

Thanks for posting, OP. I wasn't aware of this asinine practice.

The coal rollers [and trump supporters] can suck my exhaust pipe.

I've never heard that before.
Do you have a link to that?

I don't honk unnecessarily, but I hardly think it is as serious.

There's one of these morons in Leesburg and his truck does have a confederate flag sticker on the back window. I've only seen him "role coal" once, but other than doing it just to show off, I didn't see any hybrids near him.

No.
"In July 2014, the United States Environmental Protection Agency stated that the practice was illegal, as it violated the Clean Air Act which prohibits the manufacturing, sale, and installation "of a part for a motor vehicle that bypasses, defeats, or renders inoperative any emission control device [and] prohibits anyone from tampering with an emission control device on a motor vehicle by removing it or making it inoperable prior to or after the sale or delivery to the buyer."[12]"

EPA federal authority to ban noise pollution derives from the Noise Control Act of 1972 and the Quiet Communities Act of 1978:

All states have laws regarding honking.

Why are you people debating over honking laws? I have NEVER seen a protestor holding a sign that said that implores you to honk for their cause. PP posted a red herring.

"whataboutism" is almost a reflex for them now, on almost anything.
