Gyms near Metro Center?

| I need to fit exercise into my schedule. My office has a small gym, but it's no fun working out by myself. I'd like to find a place with early (6 am) classes that's near Metro Center. Any suggestions? Thanks! |

Washington Sports Club is very near Metro Center. They typically have 6:30 am classes.
Vida near Verizon Center is also pretty close and they have a TON of classes. I would join there but it is not near my home. I like WSC because it is near my office so I can squeeze in lunch time workouts as well as near home so I can workout on non-work days. |

There a place called Energy Fitness on 11th near the intersection of F street. http://www.energyfitnessmetrocenter.com/
I've never been there myself - but it's across the street from the Starbucks I go to every day on my way to work

| Energy Fitness is pretty good, I used to belong there (switched to a gym near my house). They have a ton of treadmills, lots of weight equipment, great locker room and showers, variety of classes. The staff is friendly. I used to go around lunchtime (12:30-ish) and never had a problem snagging a treadmill or weight machine. The classes are somewhat more crowded. And although it stays open late, it's totally empty in the afternoon and evenings, so no problems there either. It ran about $72/month when I was there, and they often have intro specials where they reduce or waive the initiation fee. Check it out - the entrance is next to Potbelly. |
