What does NCS do if you don't have all the required materials in by Feb 1?

Thanks

Depends on what's missing.

Do they withdraw or process your application later?

Do they withdraw you if the SSAT scores aren't in?

Call the admissions office and ask.

Most schools -- if they consider late applications at all -- will do so only after all those submitted on time are reviewed.

I did, a few times. Multiple people but no one called back, oddly. Thanks for the help!

Anyway, I have no problem with DD's application being considered later, it's just that no one has responded to my calls and I don't know if her application will be withdrawn or not.

If its just the SSAT score, it will be fine. My DD had to do a re-take and it was a bit late. They were fine with it.

Not sure what numbers you called, but admissions is at 202-537-6374. Good luck!

Or email the division admission contact (Price for US or Berry for LS, not sure who is MS but should be on the website)-- don't email the head of admissions directly.

We had the same issue with NCS admissions. I had a really simple, quick question. Phone call was never returned.

If it's a supplemental piece of the application (things not within the applicant's control, such as teacher recs, SSAT scores, etc.) and you can give them a firm date — "I talked to our school and you'll have the recs by Friday" — you should be fine.

If it's information within your family's control, it's a problem for schools that have more applicants than they can accommodate. Most of them will, as a PP noted, only consider the application after they've completed the first "wave." At the most competitive schools, that makes it nearly impossible to gain an offer of admission, absent an unusual circumstance. Other schools vary.

Hope that helps.
Peter

I have experience with materials getting in late as we were late to the admission process because of a move. I can tell you that the admissions office at NCS was beyond helpful, thoughtful and professional. They immediately took calls and answered emails. And no, we had no "connections" at all. They considered her not in the "first pile" but did consider her and she was accepted. I think the key is trying to get in touch via phone and e-mail. But I do think you have to have a good reason for being late with the materials. Good luck.

Contact them and discuss this. The admissions office is very nice.
