Quest Diagnostics/Blood test for lead

Anonymous
Our pediatrician doesn't do blood testing in his office, so I have to bring my 9 month old to a Quest center tomorrow to get her lead test. She's not the best with shots, etc, and I'm just wondering what kind of a test it is (finger prick or worse) and how long the wait usually is so I know how big of a public meltdown to prepare myself for. Thanks a lot!

Unfortunately it is not a finger prick test, it is a tube of blood from a vein. I think it was a Quest off SG road that I have gone to - if you pick your time wisely, the waits are usually short.

Our 9 month old son had his lead test done at Quest off of Medical Center Drive next to Shady Grove Hospital. They did a heel prick for the test.
