in this very moment I'm king/in this very moment I slay Goliath with the sling
I might have took your first child/scarred your life/crippled your style/I gave you power/I made you buck wild And if a double decker bus/crashes into us/to die by your side/is such a heavenly way to die |

Pure raw emotion. Singing about becoming a parent. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xoFtepADlOE&sns=em |
Eh I put them in the same category as Nickleback. And the lead singer is a complete POS so that colors my opinion. But all things aside, while the pure and raw emotion the pp cites below is about becoming a new parent, I don't think there is anything particulary new or well written in the lyrics to that song. It's a song full of cliches, without anything particularly new or interesting happening from a lyric construction POV. |
Mariah Carey's song "Someday....."
Whenever I was dumped in my youth, playing that song while focused on those positive + uplifting lyrics always made me feel good. "You were so blind to let me go....." "The one you gave away will be the only one you're wishing for....!!" |
Okay. Is that really all necessary in this thread? No one is impressed that you think someone is a "POS" and therefore judge other peoples music preferences because of it. |
I'm the one who posted Creed. It's fine. I don't take offense at the judgement. I can't relate to many of the lyrics posted by others music is very personal. We are just sharing here. No need to critique each others choices. |
I'm not trying to be hostile, I get that music speaks to different people differently. I only mentioned that part about him being a POS cause I said that made me more likely to criticize, not to try to convince you. The title of the thread IS 'best song lyric' I'm just putting my opinion out there. |
