What types of shoes with pencil skirt in winter?

Pumps seem too cold. So what to wear with a blouse and pencil skirt? Ankle boots? Knee high boots? I feel like boots are too chunky these days and it doesn't look right.

I always wear pumps, but I only walk from my car to my building.

If it's too cold for pumps, I wear boots or "shooties" with tights.

Suede booties or ankle boots.

Do you work outside? Shooties are fine, but definitely less formal. You can wear knee high boots if you get the right ones.

But I've never had an issue wearing pumps and tights with a pencil skirt in the winter.

I usually wear Stuart weitzman 50/50 OTK boots. They're pricey but worth it. I find most knee high boots a little too clunky but the 50/50 boots are very sleek and don't add visual weight. I walk a lot so would rarely wear pumps tho (unless I just change into them in the office). On really cold days, I'll do the tall uggs and then change into pumps at the office. It's been so hot for so long tho I can barely remember feeling cold.

Boots!

I wear uggs to walk from my car to the building and then put on pumps once inside. It keeps my nice shoes from getting chewed up (it's about a block walk), my feet warm, and I can't walk far in heels anyway due to foot surgeries I've had.

I prefer pumps. I think booties, unless nude colored, chop you off at your ankle. And while that is okay with a short skirt or with pants, or with very very high heel booties, I think it looks terrible with a pencil skirt. You essentially have a big horizontal line across your thighs and then another at your ankles - makes you look very short and stumpy. Pumps look better because you get another 5 inches of flesh tone.

You don't wear tights in the winter?

I wear heels or flats in the office, and wear boots in the car and walking. I take off any tights at the office

I'm not a fan of boots with pencil skirts either, barring a few exceptions. I leave my heels in my office and just wear them indoors. Use boots for commuting.

Yeah, I always match my tights to my booties. Black booties + black tights = long leg line.

This is exactly the type of situation where it pays to wear pantyhose.

So if you need to go to lunch with coworkers, you run to the bathroom to put all the stuff on?
