Congo Camp vs. Summer @ Potomac?

Anonymous
Can anyone please share their thoughts on summer camps at Summer at Potomac vs. Congressional Camp? Am looking at both for a chunk of the summer next year and would love to hear about others' experiences.

Thank you!

We are of course a little biased but think they are both excellent programs.

Congressional has a beautiful, large campus with horses, sports fields, a pool, and basically any outdoor activity you would want. The camp is extremely efficiently organized and the kids have a blast. They have a wide variety of camps to match any interest. Our family has been extremely happy at Congressional.

My son did a Congressional specialty camp this summer and while he enjoyed it, I was not impressed by the (lack of) organization. We paid over $1000 for him to attend one two week session (with am bus service) and they didn't bother to send his sunscreen home on the last day (we were told they'd mail it; they never did) and they acted like they were doing us a favor by tiedying his t-shirt (which we didn't request) since he was in a specialty camp and not a day camp. These aren't big issues but when I pay that much I expect near perfection.

My daughter has done both Summer@Potomac and Congressional. She much preferred Congressional day camp. That said, when she did the specialty camp at Congressional she did not like it as much. So, if you are doing straight day camp, I'd say Congressional, based on our limited experience.
