Erectile Dysfunction in Young Men

It can be performance anxiety. My DH was less experienced than I was and it took him a little while to relax and stop overthinking. Ten years of marriage and two kids later, we are amazingly comfortable together and the sex is so great. Getting to the comfort level is key.

With my husband, throughout our marriage, even in his twenties, it was his blood pressure ! Somehow he has a normal low blood pressure, below 120. He has gotten great rates on life insurance! But low bp and prostate issues are behind some of this.

Time Magazine recently had a great article explaining why:

In a young man with ED, or at any age, he should get a check-up. If it isn't a psychological issue where he only has it when it's time to sexually perform, but can otherwise get hard like when waking up, then it could be a sign of other issues from early onset diabetes to blockages starting to form in the arteries.

This. I clicked to post the same thing.

An easy test is whether or not he still gets morning wood. If that still happens (on occasion) but he's got ED, it strongly suggests a mental issue.

ED is rarely about the woman. It's usually an anxiety or medication thing (in young men). So don't get self-conscious, or make it about yourself.

My ex husband had this problem from his early 20s ... turns out he was gay. He knew it and was trying to hide it from himself and me for years ... he now no longer has this problem and also no longer has me.
