Anyone tried Upnest to lower commission?

I saw an ad for upnest.com on Pinterest. It's some kind of new thing that gets realtors to bid on your listing (i.e. Mechanism for getting lower commission....). Seems interesting.

Would you want a realtor who works for less money? Seems like that lower budget in the realtor's pockets could affect their marketing ability, no?
Also, I doubt the good agents are sitting around waiting for a "ping" to hit so they can compete for lower commissions. Just sayin'. You might get the duds.

It doesn't really matter who the agent is in my neighborhood. Houses fly off the market immediately, so why not save some $$$. I think it's interesting.

It won't work. Everyone ends up using their aunt out of guilt.

This is exactly why it will work. "I'm sorry aunt, I can't afford to pay an extra 30k in commissions when Larla on Upnest will do it for 1%. I'm going to be selling a $2m + property next year and will give it a shot. On expensive properties, even a small commission discount can mean big bucks saved.

I checked out the site. It looks awesome. I'd definitely use it if we were looking to sell.

PP When you were creating the website, how did you come up with the name?

Oh please. It looks like it's based on the West Coast. It sounds awesome. Presumably you are an agent wringing your hands because you will no longer make $10k/hour for selling houses that sell themselves.

It sure sounds like you created the website. I'd be happy to try and integrate with you if so, but I haven't had much success in this area. Even when our users KNOW it's best to use someone else, they always end up using their friend or family member because they feel obligated to do so and don't want to sour any relationships. Also, real estate agents are licensed salespersons and some are VERY good at the sales aspect. The grip is strong.

Have you used the website? What was your experience with it? Why are you promoting it?
