Yes, you are correct. 2015-2016 numbers go all schools do not get released until NEXT YEAR. in the meantime, you use historic numbers. For example: http://schoolprofiles.fcps.edu/schlprfl/f?p=108:13:::: 0_CURRENT_SCHOOL_ID:083
|
Or look at the transfer reports under Special Data Analysis: Links to Transfer In and Transfer Out reports for AAP: As of September 2015 http://www.fcps.edu/fts/dashboard/region1aaptransferin-out.pdf http://www.fcps.edu/fts/dashboard/region2aaptransferin-out.pdf http://www.fcps.edu/fts/dashboard/region3aaptransferin-out.pdf http://www.fcps.edu/fts/dashboard/region4aaptransferin-out.pdf http://www.fcps.edu/fts/dashboard/region5aaptransferin-out.pdf |
I don't think the School Profiles data shows the number of AAP students by grade level. |
No, but this does: http://www.fcps.edu/is/aap/pdfs/aapac/1415/AnnualReport1415.pdf |

| We love our base school and our DC is very happy there, but no local level 4. So we really need to go to the orientation before being able to think and decide. I don't think it's much time for families to decide. |

Agreed. It's a lot to take in for such a short time frame.
FWIW, if you have a child in language immersion that has Level IV services, you don't have to choose. Your child can do both language immersion and AAP. It took me a while to find out the answer to that question b/c our language immersion school isn't our base school or center, and I thought DC would have to choose one or the other. |
If you're not in an immersion or magnet program, you can accept the AAP center now and change your mind before the start of the school year. If you're in an immersion or magnet program, you risk losing your spot in that program if you accept the AAP center now. You can't turn the AAP center down now and try to change your mind before the start of the school year. |
It can be a tough situation for those who have to choose. I know that GFES has both. Are there others? I'm not sure. But as a former HS teacher, I do know that by the time these kids are in HS, it all evens out. Those who weren't in AAP will be meeting their AAP peers in Honors and AP classes. |
| Are the appeals done by teh decision date? |
| I tried to fax the form and it didn't go through. Ended up scanning and emailing. I received a confirmation response back within a few minutes. So emailing is another option. |
