On his FEC filing for the presidential race, He listed the Democratic Party as his party affiliation.
Vermont has no party registration, so every registered voter is an independent. When you file to run for office, you declare a party affiliation. So he filed as a Democrat to run for president, but as an independent to run for re-election to the Senate. |
