If you drop a 10 pound weight on your toenail, and it turns black and falls off, will it grow back normal again eventually? |
Yes, I took ballet for many years in high school and my toenails would fall off from dancing on pointe. They grew back and look fine now! |
I remember the ballerina's feet when I used to take ballet (never took pointe tho). How long does it take for it to grow back. It has been several weeks and there is no nail yet, but the skin looks much better than before. |
As I recall, it takes awhile. It was pretty ugly and then the nail grows in little by little. At least it is winter and you don't have to bare your toes too much! |
I lost a toenail a few years back (second toe). It grew back but it took about a year to be fully in and growing normally again (ie, can get a pedicure that looks good). I was told by the doctor that it might grow back bumpy or not at all, but I think that was just within the realm of possibilities, not the norm. One thing I did learn about toenails though is this. If it is partway off, you should see a doctor right away. I did it over the weekend and by Monday when I went to the doctor, it was so majorly infected that I would gross you out if I described it. I was told by my doctor that this is something that warranted an ER visit. Who knew? |
I lost a toe nail about 10 months ago. It took about 2 for it to grow back. |
I lost my big toe nail last year. It took about 6 months for it to grow back to normal. Don't worry, you'll be okay for summertime sandals. |
i hurt my big toe at the end of march of this year... my toenail hasn't fallen off yet, but it separated from the nail bed at the bottom and is about to. it is back underneath. i pray to god it grows back. i though i would have another nail growing underneath it, and nothing. it has been 2.5 months. |
It'll eventually grow back. Sounds similar to runner's toe. |
