Ideas for new hair style?

Anonymous
I'm getting a color and cut this afternoon and would like to try something a little different. I have curly hair that tends to be more frizzy than curly unless I blow it out. Right now it is long layered. I am thinking about shoulder length - maybe long bob? Any suggestions?

I am late 30s if that helps and couldn't pull off short hair unfortunately. Thanks for your help, I feel like I've been in a rut.

OP here. My hair is brunette, but this is what it looks like when I don't blow it out.

Curly hair looks terrible short. Just learn to do your hair better.

Have you tried the whole Deva curl system at all?

My curls have changed over the years and gotten frizzier so recently I have just been straightening. I have used the system in the past.

NP. I just tried the Deva curl products (got them at Nordstrom) and they made my waves/curls flat and awful. My hair is fine and thin (less Shakira, more Alanis Morissette). Do they only work on thicker, coarser curls?

I have thick hair and they got rid of some of the frizz, but made my hair really droopy at the same time. I really wanted to love it.

You should rock those curls! Maybe you need to use better products. I don't like the Deva products, too heavily scented. Have you tried the Aveda Be Curly line? And, wash your hair a lot less. Good luck!

I tried Deva products and they weighed my hair down as well, especially if I didn't rinse it all out like my stylist recommended. I like Mop Top products much better.

Curly hair needs a great cut and regular maintenance if it's short. It doesn't inevitably look terrible.

Don't cut it too short. Layered is the best option with auburn color.

I have hair that I can dry straight but is naturally curly. Deva Curl is too heavy for me too. The cut I've found that works best is just very lightly layered just at the ends. If they're heavy layers, it just gets more frizzy. Mine is a little longer than shoulder length.

I love a short curly pixie.
