Peeling fingers and feet on toddler???

Anonymous
I just went through this with my son, took him to the dr. and he has Strep. He has been at the pool all summer and only now has he had the peeling of the hands, feet. His throat was fine, but he is suseptible to Strep in his anus. So, luckily, I urged the dr. to swab it and he did. I am glad that my son is on the road to recovery.
Please look into strep if your kids have this suddenly like mine did! They do not have to have a sore throat!

Strep in the anus?? I've never heard of that! Who knew? What are the symptoms??

FYI, to the PP who said she'd go see the doctor, I bet you $20 that the doctor is just going to say "contact dermititis." Maybe I just have bad luck with doctors (and skin) because I've had a couple rashes, and each time, the doctors tell me it's contact dermititis. It never is.

My fingers started peeling one day many years ago...my mom told me to take a multivitamin. That helped almost immediately.

That is also a characteristic of scarlet fever--- was there any fever involved a day or two before?

My daughter also had strep, but with no sore throat... Just fever for a day or two, then her hands started peeling A LOT, I was told that is scarlet fever.

This is a link to a page that kind of explains strep in depth--- looks like my whole family had it but only I got the sore throat--- one daughter got the rash on her face and upper body, one got peeling hands, and I got the inflamed tonsils.

If it looked like blisters before peeling hand foot and mouth is also a potential. My daughter's hands and feet peeled like crazy -- she looked tattered.

this was my first thought. My son was also tested for kawasaki's. Often an overlooked disease.

This was my first thought as well. My son too was tested for Kawasaki's and ended up having a different autoimmune disorder.
