Question about part-time work

I love my new PT position. I LOVE it! I'm no lawyer, but have gone from 45 hours a week to 10 hours a week (soon to be 15), spread out over 5 days. I love not rushing off to work in the morning, and spending whole mornings or afternoons with DD. It is the perfect balance. I never thought I'd be a PT SAHM going to Lacrosse games and parks in the middle of the day. It is priceless! I don't miss 9-5 at all and my kids are so happy.

Did your spouse do the same?

This post is fairly bizarre. Are ANY families in a position to have BOTH parents work part-time?

I agree that this is strange and a bit annoying.

But I guess if both parents make 200k then two part time salaries would still be a lot.

My family does this, with salaries well under 200K. I work 35 hours/week (recently upped from 30, in part because of financial concerns) and have a base salary of 60K; my husband works 30 hours with a base salary around 80K. We're both so glad to have more time with our son and each other.
