46,471: Drug Overdoses Killed More Americans Than Car Crashes or Guns

Clearly, we need to:

1) prioritize releasing more drug dealers and meth cooks like the 6,000 convicted felons Obama released this week; its only the start, and

2) prioritize ignoring the Contolled Substsnces Act in more jurisdictions which "legalize" recreational use of drugs, as in DC and Colorado (where it's been so successful), and

3) confiscate all guns in civilian hands - through executive order if necessary - even though crime is at the lowest it's been in decades and decreases every year.

Brilliant strategies Obama - just brilliant.

Pot is a gateway drug that de-motivates our young people.

It also causes car crashes just like driving while drunk.

The people who die from overdoses are dying increasingly from prescription meds. Opiates, to be specific. Also Obama's plans certainly do not include taking people's guns away. That is some seriously delusional shit. Educate yourself.

He doesn't have to. All he has to do is make ammunition for them impossible to get. Same result.

car accident not crash. no one intentionally crashes so it's termed an accident

I think that this is pretty exciting news. I'm happy that car accident deaths are decreasing. Of course we should try to decrease all of these deaths and it does seem like gun related deaths would be the easiest to decrease.

Prescription drug users rose from 51 percent of U.S. adults in 1999 to 59 percent of adults in 2011, according to a new study.

As prescription drug use rose overall, so did “polypharmacy,” the use of five or more drugs at once, which increased from 8 percent to 15 percent of adults.

Check the facts? Seriously?

Why bother when it's easier to just blanket-attack the source?

Generalize much, lazy dude?

The United States and New Zealnd are the only two countries where direct-to-consumer (DTC) advertising of prescription drugs is legal. Should it be? (I'm not convinced).

Forget Breaking Bad, now you can hang with the actual, convicted Meth-cook next door!
