If not, any suggestions for a 2-year old in Bethesda/Kensington/Rockville area? We live near Grosvemor metro.

Not sure -- but you might try

Rock Spring Children's Center in Bethesda http://www.rockspringchildrenscenter.com/ which is daycare that has a preschool curriculum see http://www.rockspringchildrenscenter.com/resources/Curriculum+$26+Welcome+Two+Yr+Old+Classrooms.pdf

(after their move to this location, I understood that it was reasonably easy to get a spot)

Learning Center for Young Children at Warner Memorial Presbyterian http://www.warnermemorial.org/ in Kensington

I've heard positive things (from friends) about both of these centers.

A lot of the preschool that have afternoon programs don't fill up in the afternoons. I'd think if you called around, you could find something in the morning too.

I'm pretty sure that the Ohr Kodesh 2 yo class still has room. It's in Chevy Chase.

We've been very happy with Children's Learning Center (CLC) in Rockville and they should still have room.

In my experience, it's never too late. We moved to Bethesda in August last year, and my daughter was accepted in a great pre-school in mid-August after some parents turned down the spots they had (many families do not make the decision on a pre-school until the last moment, if their kid gets accepted into several). It is just the matter of calling around every now and then, and some luck!

Hi, I am founder of Chevy Chase Reggio. Not too late for our program. Our fall semester begins in September and we will have a couple of openings for children 2-4 years old. We follow the Reggio-Emilia method and you are welcome to visit one of our open houses or call to schedule something during the week after school. one of the first Reggio-Emilia based preschool/daycare programs in Chevy Chase or Bethesda. We have openings for the summer and fall for 2 and 3 year olds. Please visit www.ChevyChaseReggio.com for more information. You can also look at the Wikipedia entry for more information: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Reggio_Emilia_approach
