Bowling with a toddler

My nanny said she had attended a birthday party in another state where there were 2 and 3 yr olds. Are there clean, smoke-free bowling alleys in the DC metro area, NoVa like that?

We bowled at Ft Myer, so if one of you are DOD you should go there. It's clean and inexpensive, and they have the little ramps for kids to use. Aren't most (all?) bowling alleys smoke free now? I can't remember ever seeing smoking in a bowling alley in VA in a really long time.

The bowling alley in Sterling is not only clean and smoke-free, it was super fun for 3-4 year old kids AND had a super-clean bathroom.

I was at Ft Meyer today. I don't think that a 2 year old could pick up the balls. The smallest is 6 lbs. It's $4 for shoe rental and 1 game.
They serve food there too which is decent and cheap.
It's open to the public, and you just have to show ID at the gate.
No smoking and fairly clean. Better than the place in Falls Church.

We wen to the bowling alley in Laurel a couple of weeks ago. My 3 you had a blast. They put the bumpers up, the ball is smaller and the pins are smaller, You also get 3 turns for each 'set' ( not sure if thats the right word) instead of 2.

Where have you been OP? During the day, it's all kids at the VA alleys. Might not be extremely clean but there's no smoking.

I think OP was looking for specific suggestions for real young kids like 2-3 yr olds. I haven't seen that age ofte around here. OP, the Sterling one mentioned is good.

Agree. There is no place for under 3-4 yr olds really, the balls would be too big.

If you use the ramp, the kids don't need to pick up the ball. In fact, the heavier balls, we discovered, are more effective with that "method" of bowling.

Not if you do duckpins bowling. At Whiteoak Shopping Center in Silver Spring.
