Name your destination/month/cost and most memorable experience.... |
Bermuda if you are not bringing kids. Did it twice and it was lovely. You have a few days at port which is nice. |
I want to do this. If I wasn't from NE I might consider one of the cruises up to Boston/Canada. |
We've done this, too, with older kids. It was a blast! |
Depends on what you are looking for... We sailed out of Baltimore on a Carnival Cruise on the Carnival Pride to the Bahamas in late July. It was 7 days and we stopped at Kennedy Space Center in Fla along the way. We also did a Dolphin excursion (most memorable) as well as Atlantis (kids LOVED it, too crowded for my tastes). It was a low cost trip and I would give it a rating of 8 on a scale of 10 in regards to food, 10 in regards to service. Do the sit-down meals for breakfast and lunch if you can. We have great memories as a family for sure! The ship was supposed to be retrofitted/remodeled last year (which was very needed) so I imagine it is really beautiful now if that's the case... It may now have a differenct name. |
Also did the Carnival Pride to Cape Canaveral and Bahamas.
Very low cost for a fun trip with kids. Remember-- NY, Newport are also within driving distance. |
What cruise lines did you use? Thanks! |
I've looked, but it's always the older, smaller ships with bad ports out of Baltimore. I cruise a lot. Why is that?? |
8:34, my guess is that Balto just isn't a big "hub" so there is not the demand for better ships. It's not Fort Lauderdale/MIA.

We did almost the exact same cruise about 6 years ago in November and I was surprised at how much I enjoyed it. I was (still am) a bit of a travel snob and thought I'd never cruise, but this trip just happened to work out best for our lifestyle/budget/etc so we did it and it was great. Cruising is still probably not my first choice vacation, but I'd do it again. |
