You are not alone in your loneliness. Seek friendship and emotional support outside your marriage. No, not an affair. Just friends, family, volunteer work, coworkers. Add meaning to your life ... Your happiness always was and still is all up to you. I am really talking to myself here but maybe it will help you too. But I am sorry ... It is sad that such a potentially important and meaningful relationship can be so very hollow.

So sad to read this OP.

Do you think the main reason you got married was so you would never ever be lonely again? If so, let this be a lesson to others that just because you are married is not guarantee that you will feel alone.

Hopefully you have a strong support system of relatives, close friends, co-workers, neighbors and/or clergy members.

Feeling lonely is the worst feeling in the world. Even just ONE person can make a difference in how you feel.
