Shopping in Silver Spring

| I'm going to be in downtown SS tomorrow morning and would like to do some shopping. Looking for something like Lord & Taylor or Nordstrom. Are either of these stores there? Anything similar I can check out? |

| There's Ann Taylor Loft, DSW, a couple high end boutiques, ULTA (cosmetic store), Borders, Whole Foods, Pier 1, a golf store, and tons of great places to eat. There's City Mall, but nothing high end in there. I have not seen L&T or Nordstroms. |

| There is definitely nothing high end in City Place Mall, in fact it's the exact opposite! |

| The Marimekko store looks nice. Otherwise, the shopping seems generally low-end to me, too. I still like the exercise in almost-urban smart planning, though, and the restaurants and movie theaters, so I'm not a Silver Spring hater at all. |
