Time between AM waking and leaving for school

Anonymous
My husband and I are in deep disagreement about how much time we need in the morning between waking up and leaving to take our daughter to school. She is 4 and our son is 1.5. Both need to be dressed and fed, and DD ready to go by 8:15. I maintain that we need to get up at 7ish, so at least an hour. How much time do other people usually take?
Thanks.

I can get my five year old and baby ready in 30 minutes. However my DH takes an HOUR to make himself beautiful. Throne time alone is 20 - 30 minutes. Makes me CRAZY.

OP here. So funny, we are in opposite boats. Are you also getting yourself ready to go to an office or do you stay/work at home?

thank you, you made me just spit out my coffee.

we have that situation here too. It takes me 22 minutes from wake up time to get out the door, lunch packed, with a 5 yr old IF I'm not going anywhere after drop off. If I need to look done, add another 10.

I get them dressed, fed, brushed and packed for school—as well as myself—in an hour. DH takes a half hour to get himself ready. I am worried how it will go when I have to be out of the house at 6:45 next month.

I get up at 6:30-7:00 to make it out the door by 8. The first 1/2-1 hour is for me to get ready, find/iron clothes, prep lunch, etc. If I have no chores in the morning, I try to sleep in until 7am. Then I wake my 2 year old at 7:30 and give him some milk, get him dressed, and we're gone.

it takes us about an hour to get ourselves showered/dressed, toddler dressed, and all of us fed and out the door. we leave the house at 6:00 a.m.

Oh yes, same in our household. Between my husband's morning routine and then the ridiculous scene of looking for his belt and keys, he is definitely harder to get ready than my child.

It takes me 40 minutes to get me and my three kids up and out the door. Three of us shower and I feed the kids at home. I take my breakfast in the car. Not a one of us is a morning person and if I could figure out how to do it in 39 minutes, I swear I'd set the alarm a minute later.

OP again. I was hoping I could just send this whole thread to my husband with proof that I am right (:twisted but I guess that's not going to work. Those of you who can do it in 1/2 hour--you rock. I have no idea how you do it.

We have the same aged kids and, because they wake early, we have 2 hours to get out of the house. We are always late. I have no idea where the time goes.

there's no way I could do it in a 1/2 hour. It takes me an hour, and that's with everyone showering/bathing the night before. An extra 15 min. would make things less rushed for sure. I don't know how 11:30 showers herself/3 kids in 40 minutes! I too need at least 10 minutes primping time : )

DH will be on his own getting the kids ready on Monday mornings, next month. Should be interesting since he sleeps til the last minute and then needs 15 minutes jacuzi time in the morning.

I get really frustrated with the amount of time DH takes too. Would love tips!

I think with two or more kids, 1/2 is close to impossible. For those who do it, yeah, you rock. Probably super-organized, unlike myself.

I can get myself and my kids ready in an hour. And that is with me checking my e-mail and making my lunch. However, the kids get a piece of cinnamon bread as we walk out of the door to eat in the car (they drink their milk while I get myself ready first.) We'd more time to get my 2 toddlers to actually sit and eat a decent breakfast.

I CAN do it in 30-45 minutes, but I am not nice and very harried.
